What are people saying...?!

 I enjoyed very much watching the 2-DVD set of "RETURN TO CICELY," (the companion DVDs to Darren Burrows' just-published book - "NORTHERN EXPOSED.") I especially enjoyed watching Darren talk to his co-stars (on DISK TWO, in the chapter entitled – “EXTENDED INTERVIEWS”) - John Corbett, John Cullum, Cynthia Geary, Elaine Miles, Barry Corbin, Rob Morrow and Janine Turner. What makes those interviews especially compelling is that I have never seen these actors talk SO OPENLY & FREELY about the issues surrounding the making of Northern Exposure ... because they are talking TO DARREN ... their fellow actor.  It's like we are a fly on the wall, listening to these people talk just like they discuss Northern Exposure among themselves. This type of informal, honest interview would NEVER have been achieved by anyone else.

Hi Darren just finished the Book and DVD, I like the way you put it together, I remember recording it on VCR to watch latter as down here in Australia it was on late and we never got all the shows, DVD's fixed that, fond memory's of show and still watch it on rainy day's, cheers and thanks. ~Dave Bromell

My friend bought me the Northern Exposed book and Return to Cicely dvd for christmas -I was so happy to have it!!  I was putting off watching it because I didn't want it to end.. last night I watched the dvd (because I couldn't stand waiting anymore) and I just wanted to post here to tell everyone who is considering buying it that they really should buy it!! it's so enjoyable for anyone who likes Northern Exposure! I thought it was so fun to see all the places that you pointed out!! thoroughly enjoyable the book is also extremely enjoyable but i haven't finished it yet because I'm taking it very slow because I don't want it to end. Hi Darren! Got the Northern Exposure DVD and book and let's see, I watched the DVDs one day and read the entire book the next day. Couldn't help it! Thoroughly enjoyed the DVDs (sites were cool and glad you were able to include original clips for reference and old behind-the-scenes Northern Exposure pieces). I grew up watching Northern Exposure in the way that some kids may have been raised on the Bible....its been a staple in our house amongst family friends, and anyone with an ounce of intelligence every night since I can remember..... because nothing else is worth watching (One bear claw?). Receiving a signed copy of "Ed's" book this Christmas is the most starstruck I've ever been, I certainly shed at least one tear. This 228-page book is filled with insights into the filming of all your favorite episodes.  Memories of the cast and the crew and theories about what did happen to ultimately get the show cancelled.  The DVDs (there are 2) take you to the locations for all the key episodes to see what they look like today.  The surviving cast members give their thoughts on those days and what made the show great.  DVD extras include the building of the Trebuchet and Dr. Joel's house, plus a backstage tour of the studio in the final days of the show's production.
